Sweet Crystals Integrated Sugar Mills Corporation began milling operations in 2001. It is the first mill to be established in the province of Pampanga since the first half of the 20th century.

The PASUDECO Sugar Central was the first Filipino-financed sugar central in Pampanga and was built through the initiative of the Pampanga Sugar Development Company.
